Anamata began as a thought at the Te Hono Māori Conference, where young leaders passionately presented the future of Māori economic development. It was clear that a solution-based organisation was needed—one that could merge economic strategy with the ingrained principles of Te Ao Māori. From this vision, Anamata was born, offering strategic planning, feasibility studies, and relationship management tailored to the aspirations of iwi and Māori. Our work is driven by the whakataukī Ko te onamata te tuapapa, ko te anamata te whakakitenga—Yesterday is the foundation, tomorrow is the aspiration, ensuring that we build on the strength of our heritage while shaping a prosperous future for generations to come.
